Back Horsey Lessons!

If you were to ask McKayla what she wants to be when she grows up, she would tell you that she wants to be a barrel racer in the rodeo!! Lucky for us, my good friend Tisa is a barrel racer, and found out that Kayla wanted to take lessons!! In the first week of August, McKayla started her back horsey lessons!!

Tisa has McKayla go and get the horse (Fighting Lizard), get the saddle on it and walk it to the practice ring.. When they are done, McKayla has to brush the horse, put the saddle back, and take Fighting Lizard back to the stables!! (I LOVE that she has Kayla do all of this, it helps her learn how to be responsible for the horse and it's gear!!)

On her first lesson, Tisa got on the horse with her and took her around the ring! After about 15 minutes, McKayla wanted to do it alone, so Tisa got off the horse and had McKayla do it alone (Tisa still holding the rains)..

McKayla is catching on SO FAST that in the next few weeks she will be going to the rodeo arena to start learning how to go around the barrels!! Tisa says that McKayla is a natural and is going to be one of the best!! :)
